With the London Marathon heralding the re-introduction of racing on 3 October, the following week was Manchester's turn. The city hosted more than 30,000 runners testing themselves on a course incorporating an iconic city centre.
Runners of all ability and ages — some seeking their first marathon and others chasing their PB — came together, their efforts raising more than £6 million for hundres of charities across the UK.
After a series of cancellations and postponements which left many runners training since April 2020, the return of the Mancheser Marathon was a memorable sight for all involved.

The way that individual posts of pride and celebration from participants come together to tell a powerful Manchester Marathon story.
Also a shout out to the man who accidentally ran a marathon after joining the wrong queue 🤦
